The answer is 32 characters maximum. Creating a new template showed the max length of the description field. I verified this by exporting the MAC filter list from the CLI into a text file and then imported to Excel. Using a character count function I filtered out those entries where the description field was greater than 32. These entries co-incided with those that hadn't been accepted by the WCS. I have now placed a limit on the text string for the description field in the CSV file to prevent the customer exceeding the limit.
