After priming nine APs, removing them from the system, installing them, and firing them up, I noticed that some of the names of the APs shown on the WCS heatmap are incorrect.
The names shown start with "AP" followed by the AP MAC address. I made sure that the WLC had the correct AP names (it did - in the case of the attached screen shots, the correct names appear with "612-".)
What is especially odd is that while all the names were correct in the WLC, only some of the AP names were correct in the WCS.
Clicking on the REFRESH button did not fix this. The workaround was to force the WCS to refresh its configuration from the WLC. However, I don't believe that is going to be a long-term solution.
Has anyone else seen this apparent synchronization issue?

Hello,
I've the same problem with a WLC4402.
Do you find the solution for that ?
Thanks.

I called TAC and they suggested doing a REFRESH FROM CONTROLLER from the WCS.
This seemed to kick the WCS in the pants and the problem has not recurred.
Also, when adding LWAPs, I now do so from the WCS user interface and do not the WLC GUI and this seems to work out better.
