WEP to WPA

I have a wireless network of 6 Cisco Aironet 1220 Access Points. It is an 802.11b network and uses WEP. I would like to go to WPA on those access points however they apparently do not support it. Is there an upgrade that will be able to do what I want or am I stuck with buying new access points.

Re: WEP to WPA

You can update your "b" radios to "g" radios, which also provides the co-processor hardware for WPA/WPA2.

You can also (as an option)add an 802.11a radio if you'd like to implement that spectrum as well.

Both current radios (802.11g and 802.11a) support WPA/WPA2. IF you're looking at the 'eBay route' to get this hardware, be careful, there are older versions of these radios that ARE NOT WPA/WPA2 compatible.

Also note that the update kits are available from places like CDW (www.cdw.com), and the kits come with the "special" tool needed to unscrew the access covers (it's a posted Torx ... a posted T5 I think)

Good Luck
