What's the difference between backing up WCS configuration and WCS server?

I am using version 3.2.40.0 and I noticed in the scheduled tasks I can immediately execute a configuration backup as well as a server backup. Does anyone know what the difference is and which one I should be using when I make changes, such as add a controller, etc.

WCS configuration backup takes a backup copy of the configuration of the Controllers and associated APs. WCS server backup is the complete server backup including the reports and setup.
