Wireless LAN Controller 4404

How can I configure the WLC to recognize a WLAN (subnet)across a WAN link? If I create a WVLAN interface on the WLC for the remote subnet, the WVLAN is local to the WLC. I thought I needed to do some sort of config using REAP, but when I select REAP under AP mode on the WLC, I get an error: REAP mode not supported on this AP. I am using AP model AIR-LAP1131AG-A-K9. Lost! Thank You!

Hi Elizabeth,

The 1131 does not support REAP at this time. Have a look at the following;

Here is an excerpt from "Ask the expert" with Darren Douglas from Cisco;

"For local bridging of traffic, there is a function known as "Remote Edge AP" (REAP), which is currently supported on the AP1030 which permits local bridging of traffic. The REAP also maintains existing 802.11 sessions upon controller outage, but does not accept new 802.11 sessions. Stay tuned for enhancements to this REAP functionality with upcoming software releases."

From this "Ask the Expert" thread from April of this year;
