WLC4400 http no response

Hi sir:

My WLC 4400 have run the os 4.2.207.54, my ap type is AP1020.

And client user authentication by web-auth.

Sometimes my user complain cannot login web authentication, because he connot open the web login page.

And I try to monitor the WLC by SNMP, I see the http no response.

What can I do the next ?

Hi Hook,

I can see that your client has old code version. I am not sure if it could be a bug issue overall.

Anyway, what you can do is to investigate at what stage the problem exactly happens and isolate and make sure the issue is no related to the clients.

Isolate and test with different clients and different browsers. If the problem is reproducible it will be easier to investigate further.

- Is internal web-auth is being used? or external web-servers offer the authentication page?

- Is the problem that the initial page to enter the credentials does not appear? or that after entering the credentials the user is not redirected to use internet?

There can be several reasons associated with this issue. One common reason can be related to the virtual interface configuration of the controller. In order to resolve this problem, remove the virtual interface and then re-generate it with this command:

WLC>config interface address virtual 1.1.1.1

 Then, reboot the controller. After the controller is rebooted, re-generate the webauth certificate locally on the controller with this command:

WLC>config certificate generate webauth

In the output of this command, you should see this message: Web Authentication certificate has been generated.

Now, you should be able to access the secure web mode of the controller upon reboot.
