We are in the process of configuring our new wireless network using Aironet 1200 series access points. These are connected to a switch which in-turn connects through a PIX506E to the WLSE server on the internal subnet.
The problem is we the WDS access point is not able to authenticate through the firewall to the WLSE. I have configured a rule to allow the access point network to talk to the WLSE using any IP ports, but it still doesn't work. The error message we get in the Location Manager is: WLSE-WDS Link Test failed.
The access point shows this error message: WLSE failed to authenticate with WDS
and in the fault error log we get
WdsAuthentication AuthFail P2 WLSE failed to authenticate with WDS
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Rich.

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/rtrmgmt/cwparent/cw_1105/wlse/2_13/u_gd/app_port.htm list the ports used by WLSE including WDS. May want to verify that again. Check you PIX config again to make sure that it is setup correctly allowing the required ports/protocols to pass through.

Hmmm but I would have thought that my any-any rules should have covered that. I could try to add them all individually but, effectively, they should all be included anyway.
