How to resolve Firewall Services Module (FWSM) problems with TCP Application RDP with the websense server integrated

Core issue

When the websense server is integrated, there is a chance the TCP connection may be torn down.


To resolve this issue, perform these steps:

  1. Take the syslogs and the captures while simulating the traffic through the device.

  2. Once the packet captures are taken, open them in any sniffer utility, and observe the TCP flag status corresponding to the syslog that indicates the tear down of the connection.

    For the sniffer utility, download Ethereal

If the connection was torn down by a re-set flag in the TCP header, and if the reset flag is sent by the client, then FWSM tears down the connection.

If the websense server is configured, it generates the reset packet. When it is disabled, the issue is resolved.
