Launching ASDM via Linux terminal/shell

If you ever wondered how to launch the ASDM directly from your linux terminal, here a simple script that will make you happy.

Please remember to add execute privilege to the script:

# chmod +x asdm

You may also copy/link it to a default dir has /usr/bin

# sudo cp asdm /usr/bin/asdm

or

# ln -s /usr/bin/asdm asdm

To start ASDM from your ASA (192.168.1.1) just launch the script giving it the firewall IP as first parameter:

# asdm 192.168.1.1

I've tested it with ASDM 6.4(X), ASA 8.X
