Core issue

This issue occurs due to the presence of Cisco bug ID CSCsd42955.

After a new User-Defined Vendor (UDV) is added through the Relational Database Management System (RDBMS), the solution engine says that the new vendor has been successfully added. However, this vendor cannot be seen until the appliance is physically rebooted. A re-start of services does not help because the CSAdmin is not re-started with this process. This issue is seen with CiscoSecure ACS Solution Engine versions 4.0 and 3.3(3.11), when an ACS appliance uses the RDBMS sync feature in order to add a new UDV.

In order to re-create the issue, perform these steps:

  1. Create a CSV file that contains the values that need to be imported-based.

  2. Set up an FTP server, and use the RDBMS sync feature on the ACS appliance in order to import data from the CSV file.

  3. In order to verify that the import was successful. Go to Reports and Activity > RDBMS Synchronization.

There is a log similar to this in the ACS:

    Sync complete: 2 transaction(s) 0 parse error(s) 0 process error(s)

The new vendor still cannot be seen in the network configuration when there is an attempt to add a new client under Authenticate User. A re-start of services does not help.

Resolution

As a workaround, manually re-boot the CiscoSecure ACS appliance.
