Unable to access the Firewall Services Module (FWSM) and the PIX Device Manager (PDM) hangs at 47%

Core issue

This problem occurs due to the presence of Cisco bug ID CSCse12882.

Resolution

In order to resolve this issue, complete these steps:

  1. Temporarily remove all the access-group commands except for the first one.

  2. Load the PDM. When the PDM loads, it creates pdm group commands in the configuration.

  3. Add the temporarily deleted access-group commands back into the rest of the access-group commands and load the PDM. It creates more pdm group commands and loads fine this time.
