This error is caused by incorrect information or an installation failure on a Windows 2000 workstation.
This error message indicates that VPN Client software is unable to read information in the configuration, which is done in an effort to establish a connection.
To resolve this issue, perform these steps:
Create a new connection entry on the VPN Client and give it a different profile name than it had before. However, ensure that you are still using all the same information for the IP address, group name and password.
Verify whether the PC has another VPN Client installed, a Zone Alarm personal firewall, or other firewall software installed.
If Zone Alarm is installed, uninstall both the VPN Client and the Zone Alarm software. Reinstall the VPN Client and then reinstall the Zone Alarm software.
Run the cvpdn.exe file from Program Files > Cisco Systems > VPN Client. Launch the VPN Dialer again.
Verify whether you have ever had IP/TV installed on your system. This product deletes a key reference to the VPN Client software. This is done in the system registry when it is installed and could cause problems. It may be necessary to reinstall the VPN Client.
