When a quota is configured on the CiscoSecure ACS for Windows for the default group, the RADIUS service is restarted with the CiscoSecure ACS exception in the RDS.log

Core issue

This problem is due to the presence of Cisco bug ID CSCeg81851.

On the CiscoSecure ACS for Windows, when the usage quota is enabled for the default group, the RADIUS service is restarted in random intervals from 20 seconds to 5 minutes. This issue is seen in the CiscoSecure ACS versions 3.2.1(20) and 3.3.2(2).

The RDS.log shows something similar to this:

Resolution

As a workaround, perform either of these steps:

  • Do not configure the quota.

  • Download and upgrade the CiscoSecure ACS for Windows software to version to  3.3.3.
