When the user configures VRRP on the Cisco VPN 3000 Concentrator, the "An error has occurred while attempting to perform the operation.Invalid IP address on interface 2(Public)" error message is displayed

Core issue

The error is generated when the user tries to configure Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) on the external interface of  the VPN Concentrator.

Resolution

VRRP is not supported on the external interface of the VPN Concentrator. VRRP is only supported on a private/public interface.

For additional information, refer to What is VRRP?
