ASA 5505 won't launch from Server only HyperV

So this is odd. We have a Server 2012 box attached to the ASA Device.

We installed a virtual XP machine on the server as the ASA 5505 needed to be updated and the ADSM (until it was upgraded) wouldn't run on the 2012 Server.

The ADSM software RUNS FINE from the XP virtual server. It's all updated and the ASA 5505 firmware has been updated.

Want to install the ADSM Launcher on 2012 Server. Should work now as we have the lastest firmware installed and the latest sofware works from the XP Session.

When we type the https://192.168.1.1 (with out without /admin etc.) we get "This page can't be displayed."

I can ping the IP address

I can actually RUN the ADSM on the same server (in a virtual XP session)

Why won't it just launch in a browser from the 2012 Server desktop???

does the ASA have a rule to permit ASDM from the 2012 server?

so for instance say 192.168.1.2 is the XP computer, you'll need:

"http 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.255 inside"

in your asa to permit the computer to access your ASA.

also do you have the correct java installed?
