ASA: Logging reachability events for "sla monitor" / "track"

Hi forum,

I have a dual ISP setup, with two separate output interfaces.  I'm automatically monitoring the primary ISP via "sla monitor" and "track" commands, and removing the default static route when the ISP's router is not reachable. That's working just fine.

I'd like to get some sort of notification when this failover occurs (i.e. when the "sla monitor" can't reach the ISP router, and the static route is removed).  Is there any way to configure this so that I get some sort of notification (either SNMP or email would be fine).

Thanks in advance...

What you can do is send an email for syslog 622001.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa80/configuration/guide/monitor.html#wp1064823 explains how to send emails for a syslog. Here is a sample

logging mail high-priority
logging list sla-list 622001
logging mail sla-list
logging from-address email_address
logging from-address asaxxx@example.com
smtp-server ip_address

I hope it helps,

PK
