We have set up vpdn via L2TP for our remote dialup customers using a radius profile. Cisco boxes hit the LNS and authenticate the tunnel with no problem. But Ascend MAX boxes fail to authenticate the tunnel. When authentication is turned off for the Ascend LAC and the Cisco LNS it works, but turning off tunnel authentication is not an option for this deployment. It appears that the Cisco LNS is choking on the L2TP tunnel password when it comes over from the Ascend LAC. Anybody know of a solution for this problem? Are these two vendors really THAT far removed from the IETF standard?
