Cannot connect to server by IP address or by server name

I have a 1710 with a VPN config. I am using secure client 1.1 on the client end. From the client, I can ping to the server's internal IP address by IP(192.168.0.x), but cannot ping by server name. Also, I cannot connect to the server by IP address or by server name. I have DNS services on my server, and have indicated this on the router. Do I need to setup a reverse lookup zone on the DNS server? Anyone have any ideas?

If you cannot connect by IP address (except for ping) it’s not a DNS issue (yet). Check your access-list to make sure the protocols you are running are not being blocked.
