CiscoWorks VMS 2.2 databse problem

Hi,

We have been using CiscoWorks 2.2 with SP3 for managing & monitoring security Agents, Firewalls & Sensors remotely. but for the past few days we have encountering problems in it and the subcomponents like IDS MC,CSA agents etc are'nt opening. the error i looked in the log states that IDSMC- Initializing code trace facility

Execing: cmd.exe /c dir d:\progra~1\cscopx\mdc\sybase\DB\idsmdc.db

Insert Notification: inserted notification record ID 1,2,3,etc

Databse connection creation failed! err=JZ006: caught IOException :java.net.socketException:connect(code=10055).

Please provide your support in this situation as we need to unable to generate reports on snesors nor able to do monitor CSA agents.

If you are only running CSA MC and Security Monitor as part of your VMS bundle on the CiscoWorks system, you can secure that system with a more restrictive policy that is also shipped with CSA MC but not attached to the CiscoWorks group by default. To do this, you should create a group and attach the following policies to that new group: "CiscoWorks Restrictive VMS Module", "CiscoWorks VMS Module", and the "CiscoWorks Base Security Module." Then make the CSA MC host a member of the new group (in addition to the default group to which it already belongs). This restrictive policy puts tighter restrictions on the system because it does not have to account for other VMS bundle products that might be running on the system.
