Hi,
A user has ASA 5510 with ASA-SSM-CSC-10-K9 module with Plus-lic(Spam/URL/Phish) , from last couple of years he has not renewed the Smartnet contract (CON-SNT-XXXX) and his ASA CSC-SSM module subscription has expired as well.
He now want to upgrade CSC-SSM subscription,
1) will upgrading the CSC-SSM module with ASACSC10-50UP1Y (ASA 5500 CSC-SSM-10 50-User w/ Plus Lic.) solve his purpose or should he also renew CON-SNT as well.
Because as per Cisco document " Two services are required for the effective operation of the CSC-SSM: Software update service and Cisco SMARTnet®."
2)If he also need to renew Cisco Smartnet contract , which product he needs to renew the contract for a) would that be for CSC-SSM module -
"SMARTNET 8X5XNBD ASA Content Sec SSM-10 w/ 50 Usr AV" , or b) for Cisco ASA 5510? or c)what will be the part-code?
3)At present the S/W Ver. of CSC-SSM is 6.3.1172.0 , he want to renew it to 6.6.1125.0 - a) Is this renewal chargeable? or, b) renewing the Plus Lic / SMARTNet authorizes for version upgrade as well?
Thanks in advance,
Amit

Smartnet for the ASA 5510 with CSC is:
CON-SNT-AS1C10K9
SMARTNET 8X5XNBD ASA 5510 Appl w/ CSC10,SW,50 Usr AV/Sp.
Smartnet coverage is a prerequisite for the subscription:
CON-SNT-ASCS10K9
SMARTNET 8X5XNBD ASA Content Sec SSM-10 w/ 50 Usr AV.
Having both of those will entitle the user to upgrade and update.
That aside, the 5510 and CSC are about to go End of Sales. IHave you spoke to them about upgrading to 5512-X with CX module? This is a much more capable solution.
