All, After I connect via VPN, I get a default gateway of 10.0.0.1. I reviewed my config, and there is nothing showing 10.0.0.1. Where does this default gateway come from? How can I specify it not to have a default gateway?

The default gateway will be the same as the ip address assigned to the client from the dhcp pool. I assume your pool begins with 10.0.0.1.

actually no. Our local pool is:
ip local pool REMOTE 10.248.1.100-10.248.1.250

What kind of RA vpn are you using? Also, can we see your configuration?

I'm also having this problem. My VPN clients get a default gateway that's equal to the IP address assigned by the pool. They cannot get to the web without the correct gateway. How can I configure my ASA5510 to assign a different default gateway? All other VPN functions are fine.

jsugarman,
That is the way it should be. That is not your problem. If you want to get to the internet while connected to the vpn, you will have to look at split tunneling.
