How do I set up an bonded network interface on an M series SMA?

On our C series ESA Ironports, we have set up a bonded interface using interfaceconfig on the CLI so that they can have a redundant failover interface.

However our new M series SMA (running AsyncOS8.0.1) do not appear to have the bond option in the interfaceconfig, only VLANs.  I cannot work out how to define a failover bond on these devices, which is necessary as we have a pair of redundant switches in our datacentre.

Is there a way to achieve this?  I can't find anything in the documentation about it, though surely it should work if it works on the C series?

The NIC Pairing feature is not present on the SMA at the moment. Here is the feature request for it: CSCzv93379
