HOW TO MAKE A PCF FILE

How do you create a new pcf file we had an old asa ssm - 10 that crashed and replaced it with a 5505 firewall and now all of our existing vpn users cannot connect we would like to know how to create a new PCF file.

From your description it sounds like the new 5505 is not configured in quite the same way for remote access VPN that the previous ASA was. I would think the best solution would be to identify the differences and to make the new 5505 configuration for remote access VPN be like the old ASA.

But you asked how to create a new PCF file and deserve an answer to that. To create a new PCF file you open the Cisco VPN client, you click the icon for "new" and it will open a window where you can enter the various parameters that you want to use. After you finish putting in the parameters that you need you click save and it creates the new PCF file.

Just an additional note. The location of the pcf files are at:

C:\Programs files\Cisco Systems\VPN Client\Profiles. (for Windows)
