Issues with Cisco VPN client

I have a laptop with 4gb ram and i have ubuntu jaunty installed on it. I browsed online including this forum and upgraded to linux server kernel to accommodate the 4gb ram.

I had installed the vpnclient before that and was working just fine. This was given to us from our school as vpnsetup.sh file. Now, it now longer works via the menu.

and the menu points to /opt/cisco/vpn/bin/vpnui and when I type that in the terminal, i get gThread error: can be initialized only once.

However, I can also access vpn2.tele.iastae.edu thru the browser and when enter my user id and password, I am able to connect to the school network.

Not sure what to do.

The nature of the error message "GThread system may only be initialized once" would suggest that it is an issue with the code.
