Layer 2 devices in Path Analysis

Hi

Campus version 3.2 Path Analysis is not showing all the interconnected layer 2 devices.

My customer has 5 x 3500 switches connected to each other - daisy chained . If he starts a trace form one end to the other it only displays the two end devices and nothing in between. Any ideas?

You need to take a look at the list of supported devices and the minimum software required.

Thanks for the info. All the devices are supported in path analysis. What I have noticed is that if one of the end devices is a router then it shows all the switches in between – layer 2 and layer 3. As soon as you only do a path analysis between only layer 2 devices it does not work properly. My question is will path analysis only work with a router in the path – displaying the interconnected layer 2 devices? And also am I correct in saying that path analysis uses CDP to do the discovery of connected devices and if so it should display all the connected devices in its path?
