Hi,

We have three sites all connected via MPLS running BGP.

We are planning to use DMVPN over MPLS for all the above three sites. We want to have hub & spoke topology. We wanted to decide on the routing protocol to be used within the DMVPN tunnel. We wanted to run either EIGRP or OSPF.

We wanted to know the foll.

1.Advantages & disadvantages of using EIGRP in the tunnel.

2.Advantages & disadvantages of using OSPF in the tunnel.

Rgds.

Sack, the answer will really depend of your goals and network design, I think you would rather check out the white papers from Cisco about DMVPN and scalability and design:

https://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6658/prod_presentation_list.html

The main advantage of OSPF is that its based on open standards, so if you decide to migrate to some other vendor you would not be stuck with a proprietary technology (eigrp). However Cisco recommends EIGRP for DMVPN, see pg 2-9 on the below PDF:

http://www.cisco.com/application/pdf/en/us/guest/netsol/ns171/c649/ccmigration_09186a008075ea98.pdf
