SNMP MIB View Restrictions

Greetings all -

I want to restrict the access to specific MIB trees; however, the list seems to get bigger and bigger. We have a lot of routers and doesn?t clutter the configs with include lists. Here's my question: Is it possible to tell the router to point to a server with a list of includes/excludes? So when host X polling a router, the router checks a list remotely and apply the necessary restrictions. If this not possible, do you guys have any suggestions by on the above concept?

Thanks for your time,

Nabil

Re: SNMP MIB View Restrictions

Reading from a remote server won't work, it will read the list of includes/excludes from the config on the device itself. Unfortunately I don't see another way to do it other than adding each part of the view in the config.
