Re: syslog in cisco prime infrastructure

Yes it will listen for syslog messages and parse Cisco messages nicely. It is not a good general purpose analog server though.

Topology is not yet an included function in PI 1.3 nor will it be in 2.0 (August release ). The latest info projects it for 2.1 (early 2014).

Hi Marvin,

Thanks for the reply.

Do you know how to configure PI as syslog server?

Thanks,

Jerri

Re: syslog in cisco prime infrastructure

Hi Jerri,

It's on by default. End devices are configured in the normal way, specifying the PI server as the destination. Reference.

As noted in the thread in the Network Management forum, it does have some significant limitations with the current release. PI 2.0 (August) may remedy that).

Hi Marvin,

I read the reference, at section

Configuring a Syslog for an Individual Controller

I can't find the configure > controller in the PI.

where is the configure menu section place?
