VMS 2.3 Installation

I am having some issues getting VMS 2.3 installed. I know it is a dated product, but I want to utilize some of the other features it provides. After installation, the web access/log in just doesn't work. It looks like the syslog and TFTP daemons are running, I just can not log into it (no screen).

New Install, I can mess with any setting,

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike.

Please check to see if there's a casuser account created.

If not, you need to create an account casuser with administrator rights

and then run the reset casuser password script as follows:

C:\PROGRA~1\CSCOpx\setup\support\resetcasuser.exe

If you do have a casuser account set up already, please still go ahead and run the above resetcasuser.exe script.

Also, check the file in Progra~1\CSCOpx\bin\dmgtd.exe to make sure it is owned by casuser.

Please let me know how it goes.

Hi Mike.

Is this a Windows or Solaris server?

How many NIC cards on this server?

Are the WebServer and Tomcat processes up?

Regards,

-Joe.

This is a Windows box.

When I try to get things started from the services page, I get a service could not be started and no log information is availible.

When I do a net start crmdmgtd, I get an error, I forget exact wording.

In the syslog, after I do the start crmdmgtd, I get a line that says:

Jun 5 19:47:02 host.here.com dmgt[2892]: 2507(W):Daemon manager anonymous user has not been set up: 00000569

I cant find that error anywhere ...

That did the trick.

The box had hung up previously. I got that running again and reset the casuser account and I can now run the command net start crmdmgtd.

Now to continue on, thanks a ton!

Mike

Great...happy to hear that.

If you run into any problems as you "continue on", please let me know. I'll be happy to help.
