Bandwidth Control through Policies on VPN3000
Queue: VPN Devices
Question Description:
---Fri Jun 07 07:50:59 PDT 2002---
We have a number of ADSL Home users and Dial-up(PSTN) users terminating VPN tunnels on a VPN3060. As the number of users increase we need to control the bandwidth available so that the ADSL users don''t use all the bandwidth and leave the dial-up users with none.. The connection to the HQ is 34Mb/s. Is there any way of controlling the bandwidth assigned to each connection by using policies on the VPN3000? If not is there another way (device?) capable of doing this bandwidth management.

I don`t see any menu from VPN3000 administration web page to control bandwidth of each user, so I think it does not support such feature.
Integration of VPN3000 with bandwidth management device such like Packeteer (http://www.packetshaper.com) or Linkproof from Radware (http://www.radware.com/content/products/link.asp) may satisfy your requirement.

VPN 3000 Release 3.6 now supports Bandwidth Management.
