I am looking in to the hope that I can set up any type of VPN tunnel between two ubr924's. They are on the same "Cable/DSL" carryer. But they use DHCP. Is this posible in any form?! Site to site, Client to site, Client to client? I am new enought to be excited but to new to have the knowege.

Thanks,

Phil

Hi,

At least one end is static ip address. If both end are dynamic ip address, it will not work. Here is the link for router to router IPSEC VPN tunnel (dynamic to static):

http://www.cisco.com/warp/customer/707/ios_804.html

Best Regards,

"crypto isakmp key cisco123 address 0.0.0.0 " This means that the Router will be leting all ip's to try to Authenticate. If I do this on both ends, it should work. I will just have my pants down a little.

If your both routers all got dynamic ip address, how can the two peers find each other ?

You mean both crypto peer will be 0.0.0.0 as well ?

It will not be working unless you at least have static ip address in one end.

Or you ask your ISP set dynamic DNS records for your two routers.

Because the ISAKMP and IPSEC SA can be built base on hostname as well.

Best Regards,
