ACNS crashing

i have error message like the following:

/alm/maj/sysmon/core%02d/core_dump: An user Core file or Kernel Crash dump has

been generated.

Explanation One or more of the software modules or the kernel has generated core files. The System

Monitor issues this alarm.

Recommended Action Access the device and check the directory /local1/core_dir, or /local1/crash,

retrieve the core file through ftp and contact Cisco TAC.

but the question is how to do check the directory shown & get the file through ftp from the appliance?

i need the steps because iam not familiar with the ACNS commands

Re: ACNS crashing

Hello there, the following might help:

acns>dir - lists directory

acns>cd core_dir - to change to directory where the crash file may exist, if not in this directory change to directory crash and do a dir to list files in directory

Use the following command to copy the file from disk to ftp server:

acns>copy disk ftp {hostname | ipaddress} remotefiledir remotefilename localfilename

Hope this helps. I must admit that I have not tried this at this point.

regards,

Raj
