Yes, it can. We have a very small customer doing this.

The 2960 wasn't really designed for servers and we have seen interface output errors on a 2960 stack at a customer that connected their EMC VNX 10G iSCSI ports to a 2960.

The 2960 was really designed as a closet access switch and not for the datacenter. The SFP+ ports on the 2960 were designed for uplinks back to a distribution/core switch.

Hi Reza,

Thank for the information Greatly appreciated it alot.

However, i been encountered the following error while i connect Cisco Twin Ax (Cisco Branded) cable from FI to 2960S.

*Mar  1 00:32:22.764: %GBIC_SECURITY_CRYPT-4-ID_MISMATCH: Identification check failed for GBIC in port Gi1/0/25

*Mar  1 00:32:22.764: %PHY-4-UNSUPPORTED_TRANSCEIVER: Unsupported transceiver found in Gi1/0/25

Tried using the following commands as well as upgrade to latest IOS (15):

service unsupported-transceiver

no errdisable detect cause gbic-invalid

Still recevied the same error as above.

Should i be configuring trunk port on interface1/0/25 or ? i am confuse somehow =(

Hope to hear from you soon

Cheers

Looks like you don't have it connected to a 10G interface on the 2960.

If you had it connected to a 10G interface it would be Te1/0/25, the Gi means 1G.

The twinax cables are 10G only, if you need 1G you will have to get 1G SFPs for the 6120s, there are copper and fiber 1G SFPs.

These are the 2960 models that suport 10G
