Cat6/Sup720 VSS

Hi,

I knew the question is bit weird, but I need to know about it.

What stated in document for setup vss, both switches sup720 is link up via TenGE ports called VSL.

If I want to links via the Sup720 Gigabit ports it is possible ?

What is the disadvantage if use GE instead of TenGE ?

VSL link basically carry the management of the VSS communications, does it carry network traffic too.

I am in limbo as customer require uplink of TenGE to distribution switches, if I use it for distribution switch then I have none for VSL link. Sale do not quote them additional TenGE modules, so I have to build as it.

Regards

Re: Cat6/Sup720 VSS

You can NOT use gigabit interfaces, you are required to use 10gig. If the customer requires 10gig interfaces, you can get the line card and you'll have to tell them why.
