Cisco 3130X switches and X2-10GB-LR

Does anyone know if the above X2 optics are definitely supported in the Cisco 3130X switches (Dell Blade switches)?

The compatibility matrix here suggests not; however, the later release notes do mention the X2-10GB-LR optics.

I'm not sure. I have never tried it, although the documentation does look like it it not supported. Another option might be the lx4 module. LX4 can handle up to 10km over SM (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/modules/ps5455/product_bulletin_c25-530836.html)

Thanks for the info. I saw that posting too, but I am finding contradictory information. Good point about the -LX4 optic operating with SMF too; that could well be the alternative if -LR isn't supported on the C3130X.

I see what you mean. The release notes don't mention LR X2 support. I'll see if I can dig up an LR module tomorrow and test it out.

You could also try your SE.

according to our SE, it's supported and we already order 9 of them, just be careful to order to correct patch cord.
