Cisco's Infiniband Hardware

Is Infiniband a parallel technology to Ethernet to use with IP or is it a SAN interconnect for storage? Or can it be used in both scenarios?

The last time I checked there was 10 Gbps Ethernet available over copper. What's the maximum bandwidth available through Ethernet at this time?

There won't be any Ethernet based technologies involved in my datacenters. Cisco drivers don't support Winsock direct.
