DLSw + AIX

I have a network with win2k pc's as well as Aix machines. We're doing DLSw between two sites and we had a problem where the Aix machines weren't able to connect via dlsw to the mainframe.

Has anyone seen a similar bug?

We're running 12.2(7b) code on the routers,

We're running v. 4.3.3.9 on the AIX machine, and

We're using CommServer to connect to the mainframe.

I haven't seen this before, and pray I don't see it again, but it is a very huge concern for many. Thanks.

I am a TAC engineer. We have worked on many cases with DLSw and AIX. The most common issue is that the AIX is configured to use DIX/Ethernet 2 frame. Please try to use source-bridge enable-80d5. The other command problemis that IEEE spanning tree does not have a port for DLSw. Please do a show spanning and confirm that a DLSw port is in a forward state.
