I am new to IBM networking and would like to know what options are available for migrating from an IBM 3172 Interlink Controller to a Cisco CIP attached router.
Basically, we have the following set-up:
Users (SNA) -- Customer Router (DLSw+ Peer) -- ISDN -- Central Router (DLSw+ Peer) -- IBM 3172 -- Mainframe
We would like to decommission the IBM 3172.
At present, the mainframe also has a CIP attached router, which, I guess, could be used as a replacement for the IBM 3172.
Could you kindly provide me with sample configs and designs for migrating from an IBM 3172 to a CIP attached router.
I would appreciate reference to relevant URLs.
Thanks in advance for your help.

What protocol do you enable on the 3172? CIPs only support CSNA (Cisco SNA), CLAW, OFFLOAD, and TN3270 server. From the diagram, it looks like that you only need CSNA.
Below is a couple of very good pages on configuring CSNA, including IOCP gen, XCA major node definition on the mainframe side as well as CIP configuration.
