NCR 9800 Mainframe

We have NCR 9800 mainframes, which are currently connected over a leased line...talking NCR proprietary protocol.

We have a requirement now, to connect them over IP.

I would like to know if the mainframe box supports any network controller cards to support

IP directly.

If the NCR 9800 mainframe box does not suport IP directly....does anyone know...which protocol does it use precisely, so that it can be tunnled over IP by Cisco routers ?

Thanks ,

Shilpa.

NCR 9800 supports TCP/IP. There is a TCP/IP driver available on the NCR and can work with any NIC card that can be used for IP connectivity. So I guess tunneling would not be required.
