New Catalyst 4500X is not passing traffic.

I have a new Catalyst 4500X switch.  I have the basic config on it, with ports configured as trunks, with nonegotiate.  When I plug the switches in, the ports come up and CDP shows my neighbors.  However, when I try to ping the other switches, it won't go through.  IP Default-Gateway is setup, but I'm not sure what else I'm missing.  Is there something on a 4500X switch that is different than a 3560 or 3560X switch?  Shouldn't it start forwarding packets as soon as a trunk is established?  All my VLANs are up too.
