Nexus 1000v over Hyper-V and ERPSAN

Hi,

I need to transport traffic from a span session composed from several ip-phones to a a VM that is running over an Hyper-V running on a B-Series chassis in End-Host mode, so basically I need to confirm that It's possible to transport this traffic using an ERSPAN to this VM.

So in summary:

-Src ERSPAN session in the core switch, outside of the Fabric-Interconnect

-Dest ERSPAN session Nexus1000v

Can I redirect this traffic to a VM on the Hyper-V ?

Regards,

Bruno Fernandes

Hello Bruno,

Destination ERSPAN is not supported today on N1k.  Enhancement CSCuf89778 will implement this functionality in a future release.

You can however set the ERSPAN destination as the target VM IP address then use Wireshark or Gulp to strip the GRE header.

gulp -i eth1 -d > pcapfile
