Nexus N2K-C2232TM-E not Connecting Servers

Hi,

I have installed a Cisco Nexus N2K-C2232TM-E Fabric Extender in a datacenter:

• I have connected servers with 1GE NICs and configured 'speep auto' OR 'speed 1000'
  
• When I connect some of the servers to the N2K-C2232TM-E, the ports do not come up
  
• When I connect other servers to the N2K-C2232TM-E,
  
  • The server NIC lights up
    
  • The Fabric Extender RJ45 LED lights up BUT
    
  • The Fabric Extender port's Main LED DOES NOT light up
    
• If connect my laptop to any of the ports
  
  • The Laptop NIC (1GE NIC) lights up
    
  • The Fabric Extender RJ45 LED lights up BUT
    
  • The Fabric Extender port's Main LED DOES NOT light up
    

What could be the cause of this????

Hi,

Can you provide a show version and show fex detail from the parent switch as this will help to give us a better idea of what might be happening?

Thanks. I got the solution to the problem:

• Some of the server NICs were 10/100 which are not supported by the Cisco Nexus N2K-C2232TM-E Fabric Extender. The N2K-C2232TM-E supports ONLY 1000/10000 speeds. My laptop has a 10/100/1000 NIC port and that's why it could connect to the Fabric Extender
  
• I got mixed up on the issue of 'Fabric Extender RJ45 LED and Fabric Extender port's Main LED'; The N2K-C2232TM-E has ONLY one port LED per port
