We tried to upgrade UCS firmware from 2.1.1f to 2.1.2a, initially with autoinstall infrastructure
however, the system hangs with IOM upgrade !
any advice how to escape from the autoinstall ?
anybody having had similar issues ?

Hi,
same here but from 2.1.1b to 2.1.2a with IOM-a on Chassis-1.
The other IOM and second chassis did it just great...
/chassis # show firmware |egrep -A 10 "IOM"
IOM 1 (Fabric A):
Running-Vers: 2.1(1b)
Package Vers: 2.1(1b)A
Update-Status: Ready
Activate-Status: Pending Next Boot
IOM 2 (Fabric B):
Running-Vers: 2.1(2a)
Package Vers: 2.1(2a)A
Update-Status: Ready
Activate-Status: Ready
No reset or anything has helped so far. Another message will be this one:
/chassis/iom* # show fault
Major F0401 2013-07-16T11:06:38.412 612542 IOM 1/1 (A) current connectivity does not match discovery policy or connectivity is unsupported: unsupported-connectivity
Any advice would be very helpfull.

I solved the problem with this painful steps
1) I only have one chassis -> decommission chassis
2) this resulted that the remaining steps in the infrastructure autoinstall got finished properly (both FI's)
3) Recommission chassis
4) manually firmware upgrade and activate IOM -> IOM are in pending next boot
5) reset IOM's
btw. one UCS domain (with 1 chassis) was upgrading ok, the other failed.
Any advice to get out of a hanging autoinstall sequence ?
Thanks
Walter.
