WHAT IS IRDP

I WAS JUST LEARNING ABOUT IRDP I HAV GON THROU FROM DOC ALSO BUT IF SOMEONE CAN EXPLAIN IT IN EASY LANGUGE

IRDP (ICMP Router Discovery Protocol) allows hosts to locate routers.

When operating as a client, router discovery packets are generated.

When operating as a host, router discovery packets are received.

IRDP is only useful for in presence of hosts computers that are

running it. Note that routers do no receive IRDP packets, IRDP

unlike CDP is therfore not useful in a router only environment.
