Disable Screen Blanking on Console

Hi,

We have an Terminal on the VGA Connector to have a look on several thinks. After 10 Minutes it is disabled with an blank screen. This is an normal behavior in Linux. You can disable it in Normal linux with the setterm command.

But this does not work here. Setterm was not found.

How can I disable the screensaver for the console? What command?

Thanks

Pasadena

Disable Screen Blanking on Console

First, make sure you are running the latest firmware version.  From version 1.2.0 to the current 1.5.0 the VGA console port functions as follows:

1. VGA console port needs to be connected before the unit boots.

    * User will see the system log on the screen

    * If there is a time out (after 30 minutes), the screen will go blank.  You can hit the 'return' key to key back into the console.

2. If the system is already booted, the VGA console will not work.

3. If you remove the VGA cable after boot up and the timeout occurs, user cannot reconnect.

Summary:

Connect the VGA cable first, hit 'return' to enable the console if it times out.

There is no way to turn off the timeout though.  Work around would be a script to keep issuing commands to the console so it nevers goes into timeout.
