NSS 324: Firmware upgrading problems

Hello:

I have upgrad to ed NSS 324 to firmware 1.5 on path to QNP. I used NSS Discovery tool to upload the image.

When I rebooted the 324, I keep sseing the message System Booting on LCD. This has been going on for almost 60 minutes. The divice adds > to second line on the LCD display every couple of seconds.

1) The status LED is green and LAN LED is blinking Orange.

2) Unable to discover via NSS discovery tool.

3) As far as I can say there is no activity on the disk drives.

Should I restart the NSS now or wait? I am not sure how long NSS takes to reboot after a firmware upgrade. I don't want to restart NSS if it actually doing some thing.

Thanks in advance for help.

Edit: Connected a monitor to VGA port. Here is what it says

Booting 'Dom Kernal 2.6.x backup

root (hd0.2)

Filesystem type is ext2fs. Partition type 0x83

Kernal /boot/bzImage root=/dev/ram0 rw

  [Linux-bzImage, setup=0x3200, size =0x3bc0401

Error24: Attempt to access block outside partition

Booting 'Dom kernal 2.6.3x backup'

Re: NSS 324: Firmware upgrading problems

Hello Jasbryan:

Thanks for responding.

I only pushed Cisco ver 1.5, Once this was done I was about to push I think it was 3.5 QNAP. I never got that far.

As soon as I pushed Cisco ver 1.5 that I downloaded and pushed the 324 is not rebooting.

I upgraded to:

NSS324_FW_1.5.0.3
Release Date: 28/SEP/2011
NSS324 Firmware v1.5.0
Size: 105854.08 KB (108394575 bytes)

Your help is much appreciated.

NSS 324: Firmware upgrading problems

If the unit is still stuck - you will need to force it down and try rebooting and let me know what output says on your mointor. Its possible that your partition corrupted in the upgrade. Also what firmware did you upgrade from ?

NSS 324: Firmware upgrading problems

Hello Jasbryan

Still having problems.

I rebooted the device.

It goes thru boot process with  AMI.

Than it says:

GRUB loading stage 1.5

GRUB loading Please wait ....

Press 'ESC' to enter the menu ...

Than the messages mentioned in the intial post  starting with

Booting 'DOM Kernal 2.6.2x backup' starts.

I believe the NSS 324 was running 1.3x (could be 1.4.x) but I am not sure.

If partition is corrupted how do I recover on these NSS 324. I know how to do fix these type of problems in Microosft world and also with Linux using a bootable disk, etc.

Thanks for your help.
