I have a MediaServer that is designed to pull files from a computer using Windows Workgroups. I'm using the NSS6K to store the video files. According to the NSS6000 CIFS logs, it tries to logon as "nobody" with no password. I"m assuming this is considered "guest access". Although it can find the shares, it cannot access any of the files or folders on the share. I have the share setup as "public" and "allow other users to change/delete other users files". Is there anything else to try?
the share using the Share Owners Username and Password. Next, under Windows 7, I
manually had to change the attributes/permissions of the folders under the share to Full-Control to user Everyone. I had to check off the radion box at the bottom that said to propagate the changes to all subfolders and files below.
Not sure why I had to do this, but it fixed the problem.
