POE on SGE 2010p

Our site have roughly 30 x cisco 2010p. We installing VOIP phones in which the phones are POE.

The phone, together with the PC connects to the switch on a single network cable.

My question is, the phones that will be install are rated as IEEE802.3AF class 2 devices with a documented max power requirement of 4.5W @ 48v. Will the the 2010P be able to support this?

Hello James,The SGE2010P does

Hello James,

The SGE2010P does support 802.3AF on every port, and can supply up to 15.4 watts to each port, with a maximum power usage of 360 watts for the whole switch (or 280 if you are using RPS).

Going from your requirement for 4.5 watts you should be able to fully load every switch port with those phones and the switch will power them all.

You can take a look at the datasheet for the SGE2010P here:

Hope that helps,

Christopher Ebert
