255.255.255.252 Subnet Issue

Hello.

Ok , I seem to have an issue connecting to the internet through my E2500 Cisco router. Here is the information I received from my ISP :

Static IP : 24.137.54.198

Subnet : 255.255.255.252

Gateway : 24.137.54.197

DNS Server : 64.71.255.198

Alternate DNS : 64.71.255.202

The internet works fine when I hook up the line directly to my laptop . When I entered the same information on my router , it doesnt work.

I spoke to Cisco technical support and they told me that subnet 255.255.255.252 wont work with the Cisco Router and that I need to get it changed. However , my ISP tells me that it should work with a router. Any suggestions ?

Hi again Pravin, I am sorry for being insistent, as I told you in your past post, I am afraid that device is not Small Business equipment, so in this case if you want to receive more feedback about this issue you could post your issues in to Linksys forum. Please go to the link below.

I hope you find this answer useful
