Affordable IOS Small Business Router?

I currrently have the RVS4000 and am looking at the RV180, but I'm having an issue with the RV180 supporting the Dynamic DNS service I need (see here). In that discussion, it seems what would be ideal for me is a router running IOS so I could customize the Dyanmic DNS client on there to fit my needs. However, is there any "affordable" router running IOS that's similar to the RV180 tailored to a small business without getting an overkill router?

Here's my basic needs:

• Router either compatible with DNS Made Easy's Dynamic DNS service OR has the ability to customize the Dynamic DNS client on there so I can adapt it for DNS Made Easy.
• I DO NOT need wireless. We only need Ethernet/wired.
• I prefer Gigabit Ethernet.
• We're not currently using ProtectLink, so if it offers the ability for it, great, if not, fine.
• We have our own VPN service and don't need to access the network remotely (just remote into one device using Dynamic DNS), so if it has built-in VPN, great, if not, fine.
• I'd like IPS included. Our RVS4000 has it and I like this feature.
• We're switching to cable broadband and VOIP through our cable company, so QoS should probably be included.

Any info would be much appreciated!

I'm just going to ask this here, how do the RV042G compare to the RV 220W performance, hardware and feature wise? I don't really care about the wireless aspects, just stability, WAN and LAN performance as well as features.

The RV042G is exactly the same as the RV042 v3 in feature set and reviewed here:

with the aded feature of Gigabit WAN/LAN ports.  i dont have any test results on throughput but am sure it will handle most things adequately.

In addition to the RV042G, is the RV082 coming out in an RV082G anytime soon? That'd save me from having to purchase a switch since I'd have enough ports in the router itself.

I've been told at this time, the answer is no.  only the RV042 will have a G version.

Yep, I have quiet a few routers now and one Cisco SLM2008 switch which works great with them.

I'm looking at the SG200-08 which seems would play very well with the RV042G.

Yeah think the sg200 replaced the slm2008 I have. Though they seem to have the same feature set.

Been looking at the status sheets, and couple quick questions then it's decision time!

What's the NAT throughput and how many concurrent sessions on the RV042G? Is it more than the RV180?

Does the RV042G support VLAN or the ability to create a guest network on one of the ports to separate my network from guest machines that need to plugin to it?

Leaning toward the RV042G but this will help me decide.

RV042G supports port-based VLAN. Guest PC can connect to an isolated VLAN that has access to the internet.

Regarding the #concurrent connections, RV180 supports 10K while RV04G supports more than 20K.

NAT throughput is about the same (about 800 Mbps) with large packet size (1500 bytes).

Glad to be of Help, I must say its been a long time coming for the RV042 to have Gigabit ports. My RV042 v1 is still going strong.
